Animal Art at the Tannery Mondays - 3:30-4:30pm & Tues. 4-5pm ($15) Kids love animals. It’s a way of connecting to the world. It’s a way of understanding habitats and watersheds. Young artists in these small classes use references and specimens to draw animals.
We use observational drawing techniques which help young artists to “see”, to learn shapes and detailing. Each student picks their own creature from a large assortment of references. Students work at their own pace; each has a portfolio to continue art where they left off.
In addition to the art itself, kids “collaborate” on a book with other classes. Book recently published: * Creatures in an around the San Lorenzo River * Creatures in and around the Monterey Bay * The Redwoods and their Creatures * Creatures that Fly and Glide * Creepy Crawly Critters from Santa Cruz (Current)
Monday and Tuesday Classes are located on the Tannery Arts Center Campus /San Lorenzo River
