Weekly Classes afterschool Fall Classes begin Sept. 5th
Animal Art Outside
Kids love animals. It’s a way of connecting to the world. It’s a way of understanding habitats and watersheds. Young artists in these small classes use references to draw animals. Because we are outside, there are trees and plants that are native to muntiple habitats that we also use for references. We use scientific drawing techniques which help young artists to “see”, to learn shapes and detailing. Each student picks their own creature from a large assortment of references. Students work at their own pace; each has a portfolio to continue art where they left off. In addition to the art itself, kids “collaborate” on a book with other classes. Book recently publihed: Creatures in an around the San Lorenzo River Creatures in and around the Monterey Bay The Redwoods and their Creatures
Classes are located on the Tannery Arts Center Campus /San Lorenzo River
